Institutional Structure

The General Assembly is the supreme authoritative body of the IDH.  The Executive Board, which is the governing body, is comprised of the President and four Directors who will also be in charge of other substantive areas of involvement. The Vice-President is elected among the four Directors. Additionally, there shall be an Executive Director who shall be present in the meetings of the Executive Board; however, he or she is without the right to vote. The IDH is fully compliant with and regulated by all applicable statutes in the Lima Public Registry.

Each member of the Executive Board also has responsibilities in specific areas or groups concerning human rights and may have the support of Joint Directors. The responsibilities assigned are as follows:

                                               Consulting Council (2004)

The Consulting Council of the Human Rights Institute is comprised by persons with important experience and knowledge in the areas of concern and labor of the Institute. They are persons with an acknowledged social sensitivity and democratic conviction. Their opinions, recommendations and proposals are a central part of our institutional policies.

The members of the Consulting Council are:
